More than 3,500 young people get a job through the PICE program of Cámara España

A total of 3,594 young people have obtained employment through the Training Plan of the Comprehensive Program of Qualification and Employment (PICE) since its launch in 2015. This program, led by the Chamber of Commerce of Spain and run by the territorial Chambers, between they Chamber Orihuela, is part of the National Youth Guarantee System of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security and is co-financed by the European Social Fund.

By Autonomous Communities, the highest number of insertions corresponds to the Valencian Community (866), followed by Andalucía (671) and the Community of Madrid (351).

Results January-October 2018

A total of 1,492 young people have obtained employment so far this year through the Training Plan (PICE). In addition, from January to October 2018, 10,369 more actions were carried out than in the same period of the previous year. This total figure is broken down into 1,973 enrollments, 2,220 young people in the vocational guidance phase, 4,954 young people trained in Core Training / Specific Training and 1,222 young people who have performed work intermediation.

Aid for hiring

The companies assigned to the PICE Program receive a hiring aid for young people, between 16 and 29 years old, who have at least completed the vocational orientation phase of the Training Plan of the Integral Program for Qualification and Employment (PICE). This aid amounts to 4,950 euros and extends to any of the types of contract provided for in the law: indefinite, temporary, in practice or for training and learning. The deadline for companies to apply for the grant ends on December 29 of this year.

There are also grants for entrepreneurs with the aim of promoting self-employment, so that young beneficiaries of the National Youth Guarantee System who have gone through the PICE and start a business or professional activity receive a grant of 600 euros, provided that when young people remain enrolled in the Special Regime of Self-Employed Workers (RETA) for 12 months without interruption. Only one aid will be given per created company.

How the PICE program works

The Integral Program for Qualification and Employment (PICE) is tailored to the needs of the more than 7,900 member companies, which belong to sectors such as the hotel trade, commerce or the manufacturing industry, among others. It consists of two specific plans:

Training Plan, a training itinerary that prepares young people for their insertion in the workplace. This itinerary begins with vocational guidance, in which students learn to prepare their Curriculum Vitae or face a job interview. Then, a core education is taught: languages, digital skills or skills for employment. Finally, a specific training is offered oriented to a specific job or profession.

Mobility Plan, which allows to expand professional training in companies in countries of the European Union.
