The president of Chamber Orihuela, Mario Martinez, accompanied by the treasurer of the entity, Antonio Barberá and José Adolfo Medina, adviser of the Presidency, has reported the meeting held yesterday in Valencia with the Minister of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory , María José Salvador. A meeting in which the regional responsible personally acquired the commitment to include an exclusive nominative heading in the 2019 budget to launch the new CV-95 project in the Vega Baja, as announced by the head of the Consell, Ximo Puig , in the General Policy debate. The meeting dealt with more topics of interest for Orihuela and the region, such as the necessary improvement of road safety in the AP-7, a highway for which Chamber Orihuela also calls for the liberalization of tolls to favor above all the trade from Orihuela Costa.
Salvador was accompanied by the general director, Carlos Domingo Soler, with whom the Chamber representatives already held another meeting last week, and by the Síndico de Podemos in Les Corts, Antonio Estañ, to whom Mario Martínez thanked the support “since it was he who committed himself, when he was with us in Camara Orihuela this summer, to promote this meeting with the consellera “.
The president cameral, Mario Martinez, said that the Ministry of Development “has the least to force the concessionaire to perform the maintenance of the road, because it is deficient and in some areas dangerous.” In this regard, he added that despite the fact that the concession still has years left, “if the improvement works to which they are obliged are not undertaken, the rescue of the road and the elimination of tolls will be requested, which is our fundamental objective. and our claim for years. The maximum representative of the Oriolan businessmen has also indicated that he intends to visit the Ministry of Public Works as soon as possible to raise these issues “that are so damaging to the pockets of the small and medium-sized entrepreneurs of Orihuela and the region who need their vehicle every day to go out to work in the nearest municipalities, as well as ordinary citizens “; and Martinez understands that the neighbors of this region have two tolls that limit their freedom of movement and that they represent a great comparative grievance with respect to other territories of the province, he stressed. For this reason, aims to promote a transformation on the current situation of the A-7 motorway “hand in hand with Development to improve the growth of our companies and the commercial networks of the Vega Baja”.
With Fomento, another of the issues that were put on the consellera’s table should also be addressed, such as the fact “that the coastal train that has already been raised from the airport north of the province does not forget the south, because is the infrastructure that should unite our coastline, to Pilar de la Horadada, with the area of El Altet, “he assured while he has been pleased that the council informed him that Orihuela city will have direct rail connection to the aerodrome on the axis Orihuela-Elche-Airport.
“All these new infrastructures together with the CV-95 or the Logistics Activities Zone of San Isidro will also be reflected in a mobility plan that is a priority for the Conselleria, which will include the renewal of the concession bus map and will connect the 27 municipalities with airport, universities and hospitals “, clarified Mario Martínez. “Together with the Mediterranean Corridor and counting on the CV-95 for when we expected it, in the year 2022-2023, we will achieve the vertebration of the region”.
The people in charge of the Oriolan entity consider a meeting to be “very fruitful”, which they were satisfied with because, in their opinion, “this supposes that the CV-95 is unblocked and that the procedures begin to achieve our objective, which is to have this road to the year 2022 “, something that the consellera has also told them will come to Orihuela, and more specifically to the Chamber of Commerce, to announce in person. Mario Martinez for his part has indicated that the technicians who are entrusted with the project “already have part of the work done, since at the time three paths were considered that will now be studied and adapted, because the previous project is from 2005 and we must take into account the current reality. “
