Orihuela Chamber will recognize posthumously the figure of Juan Cerdán at the I Night of the Oriolana Economy, which will take place this Thursday, November 28, starting at 8:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the CAM of Orihuela.
The unforgettable Juan Cerdán, a member of a saga of transport businessmen and president of the Chamber of Commerce from 2002 to 2010, left the Oriolan cameral institution after his death “in one of the most fruitful moments, with the largest number of workers in its history and with unbeatable institutional relations, in addition to creating the Business Nursery of Orihuela and a second nursery projected in Orihuela Costa, which did not come to fruition, ”recalled the current president, Mario Martínez. “We want with this special mention that we are going to give the family a well-deserved tribute to their work and dedication to the institution, companies and Orihuela for so many years,” added Martínez.
The celebration of the I Night of the Economy is the first act carried out in the town in recognition of the trajectory and achievements of the Oriolan business, industrial and commercial fabric, “in which we recognize our companies, entrepreneurs and local businesses as indispensable pieces for the development of Orihuela, its employment and its economy, ”said the maximum representative of Oriolan merchants and entrepreneurs.
In addition to the special mention, throughout the evening, six awards will be given to industry and commerce in the agri-food, industrial and service sectors such as the hotel, restaurant and tourism sectors of Orihuela, its coast and districts. The Perea transport company has been awarded the Internationalization award, while the recognition of the family business in the town will go to the well-known Joaquin Restaurant. The distinction to the Tourism Trade has fallen to the Irish leisure and restaurant premises Paddy’s Point, in Orihuela Costa, and the Codex bookstore will receive recognition for sustainable trade. For its part, the Global Company award will go to Grupo Marcos Automoción, while the Innovation award has gone to the MundoSol firm of La Murada.
The event will be attended by Arcadi Spain, Regional Minister of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Natxo Costa, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Sustainable Trade, Antonia Moreno, territorial director of the Presidency of the Generalitat in Alicante and the mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana, among other personalities.
