Implement actions that promote entrepreneurship and improve the development of the companies of Orihuela and the region of Vega Baja, mainly in the Agri-food and Agro-environmental sector. This is one of the objectives of the agreement signed last week by the Chamber of Commerce of Orihuela and the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche. To achieve this goal, both institutions have already begun to work on one of the first measures of this collaboration: the Orihuela Emprende program. The details of this initiative will be presented next Friday, June 7, at 11:00 am in the Business Incubator of the Chamber of Commerce of Orihuela (Avenida del Mar 10, corner País Valenciano) which will be attended by representatives of both institutions .
Orihuela Emprende is a program with which both the UMH Science Park (PCUMH) and the Oriolan Chamber of Commerce seek to generate new jobs, promote business diversification and, in general, improve the socioeconomic well-being of Orihuela and the region of the Vega Baja. This initiative is aimed at entrepreneurs who have new business projects as well as established companies in Orihuela or its surroundings that seek to improve some area of their business. Those registered in both categories will receive advice, management training and business creation and access to sectoral conferences.
The objective of this action, as well as those that will be launched in the future, is to support the commitment that UMH is making, through its Science Park, in the Vega Baja region. To this end, last year, the creation in Orihuela of the Agrotech headquarters, the specialized area of the PCUMH, was promoted to promote innovative initiatives related to the agri-food and agro-environmental sectors.
